Ding mee naar de CollectieveKracht Masterscriptieprijs 2025!

Ben jij recent afgestudeerd en heb jij een masterscriptie geschreven over burgercollectieven, commons, collectieve actie of aanverwante onderwerpen? Wil jij jouw werk zichtbaar maken voor een breed publiek én bijdragen aan de praktijk van collectieve kracht in Nederland en België? Ding dan mee naar de CollectieveKracht-scriptieprijs 2025!

Het platform CollectieveKracht zet zich in voor het versterken van burgercollectieven en het bouwen van bruggen tussen kennis en praktijk. Daarom reiken we dit jaar voor het eerst een prijs uit voor de beste MA-scriptie die bijdraagt aan inzicht in, of versterking van, collectieve burgerinitiatieven.

Waarom meedoen?

Deze prijs is een unieke kans om jouw academische werk zichtbaar te maken buiten de muren van de universiteit. Je draagt bij aan maatschappelijke verandering én je bouwt bruggen tussen wetenschap en burgerinitiatieven. Samen maken we kennis collectief krachtig! 

De drie beste inzendingen ontvangen een geldprijs én professionele ondersteuning bij de valorisatie van hun werk:

• 1e prijs: €1.000
• 2e prijs: €500
• 3e prijs: €250

Daarnaast krijgen alle drie de winnaars de kans om samen met het CollectieveKracht-team te werken aan de vertaalslag van hun onderzoek naar de praktijk. Denk aan een publieksgerichte infographic, tekst, animatie of korte video, die op CollectieveKracht.eu wordt gepubliceerd. Zo zorgen we ervoor dat jouw inzichten hun weg vinden naar de collectieven die er het meeste aan hebben.

Wie kan meedoen?

We nodigen je van harte uit om je scriptie in te zenden als je voldoet aan de volgende criteria:

• Je hebt je masterscriptie afgerond in het academiejaar 2022-2023, 2023-2024 of 2024-2025.
• Je scriptie is geschreven in het Nederlands of Engels.
• Je scriptie gaat over burgercollectieven of een nauw verwant onderwerp (zoals commons, coöperaties, participatief bestuur, collectieve zelforganisatie of democratische innovatie).

Wat moet je indienen?

• Je volledige scriptie (PDF).
• Een Nederlandstalige samenvatting van maximaal 800 woorden.
• Een kort overzicht (max. 1 A4) van mogelijke manieren om de opgedane kennis terug te geven aan burgercollectieven of andere betrokken stakeholders (denk aan workshops, samenvattingen, visuals, presentaties, podcasts, etc.).

Jury en beoordelingscriteria

De jury bestaat uit

• Katja Rusinovic, Lector Grootstedelijke Ontwikkelingen, De Haagse Hogeschool
• Carolien van Wersch, Directeur van Voor Goed
• Ton Duffhues, onderzoeker Instituties voor Collectieve Actie

De jury beoordeelt inzendingen op basis van de volgende criteria:

1. Relevantie voor burgercollectieven en maatschappelijke transities - De scriptie onderzoekt de rol van actieve burgers in maatschappelijke transities, met specifieke aandacht voor burgercollectieven, commons of vormen van collectieve actie.
2. Vertaalbaarheid naar de Nederlandse context - Hoewel het onderzoek overal ter wereld gesitueerd mag zijn, moet de scriptie inzichten opleveren die relevant en toepasbaar zijn voor burgerinitiatieven in Nederland.
3. Wetenschappelijke kwaliteit - De scriptie getuigt van een grondige academische aanpak: met een heldere probleemstelling en onderzoeksvraag, een passende en zorgvuldig uitgevoerde methodologie, en een goed onderbouwde analyse.
4. Inter- en transdisciplinariteit - Inzendingen vanuit alle wetenschappelijke disciplines zijn welkom. Een inter- of transdisciplinaire benadering, waarin verschillende perspectieven worden verbonden of samenwerking met praktijkpartners centraal staat, geldt als een meerwaarde.
5. Impact en toepasbaarheid - De student is in staat om de onderzoeksresultaten te vertalen naar heldere, bruikbare inzichten voor burgercollectieven in Nederland (max. 1 A4).

Compete for the CollectieveKracht Master’s Thesis Award 2025!

Have you recently graduated and written a master’s thesis on citizen collectives, commons, collective action, or related topics? Would you like to showcase your work to a broad audience and contribute to the practice of collective power in the Netherlands and Belgium? Then enter the CollectieveKracht Thesis Award 2025!

The CollectieveKracht platform is dedicated to strengthening citizen collectives and building bridges between knowledge and practice. That’s why we are awarding, for the first time this year, a prize for the best MA thesis that contributes to understanding or strengthening collective civic initiatives.

Why participate?

This award is a unique opportunity to showcase your academic work beyond the university walls. You’ll contribute to social change and help bridge the gap between academia and grassroots initiatives. Together, we make knowledge collectively powerful!

The three best entries will receive a cash prize and professional support in making their work accessible and impactful:

• 1st prize: €1,000
• 2nd prize: €500
• 3rd prize: €250

All three winners will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the CollectieveKracht team to translate their research into practical formats. For example a public-oriented infographic, text, animation, or short video, which will be published on CollectieveKracht.eu. This way, your insights reach the collectives that can benefit from them the most.

Who can apply?

We warmly invite you to submit your thesis if you meet the following criteria:

• You completed your master’s thesis in the academic year 2022–2023, 2023–2024, or 2024–2025.
• Your thesis is written in Dutch or English.
• Your thesis focuses on citizen collectives or a closely related topic (such as commons, cooperatives, participatory governance, collective self-organization, or democratic innovation).

What should you submit?

• Your full thesis (PDF)
• A Dutch-language summary of max. 800 words
• A brief overview (1 A4 page) of potential ways to share your insights back with citizen collectives or other stakeholders (e.g. workshops, summaries, visuals, presentations, podcasts, etc.)

Jury and assesment criteria

The jury consists of the following people:

The jury will assess submissions based on the following criteria:

1. Relevance to citizen collectives and societal transitions - The thesis explores the role of active citizens in societal transitions, with a particular focus on citizen collectives, commons, or forms of collective action.
2. Applicability to the Dutch context - While the research may focus on any geographical region, the findings must yield insights that are relevant and transferable to citizen initiatives in the Netherlands.
3. Scientific quality - The thesis demonstrates a solid academic approach: a clear research question and problem statement, a well-described and appropriately executed methodology, and a thorough, well-founded analysis.
4. Inter- and transdisciplinarity - Submissions from all academic disciplines are welcome. An interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary approach – connecting multiple perspectives or involving collaboration with practitioners – is considered an asset.
5. Impact and practical relevance - The student is able to translate the research findings into clear, actionable insights for citizen collectives in the Netherlands  (max. 1 A4).
